Strength & Conditioning

Here we can discuss more non-competitive goals. Weight loss, strength building, cardiovascular health, and more. Clients who aren’t as interested in a specific strength sport work with me on more generalized fitness (which can still include some strength sport work in a non-competitive context!). I work with clients who want to lose body fat, gain muscle, get stronger, learn new skills, improve their health metrics (blood pressure, cholesterol, sleep hygiene, insulin issues, etc.), or simply improve their overall sense of wellbeing, happiness, and energy.

I have clients who come to me wanting to feel less stress, look better, and feel more empowered to venture out and try new things.

The key to feeling better about your life and improving physical fitness is to treat training as a learning process and an opportunity to express stress in a functional way. It’s not about calories burned, reps performed, or hours spent in the gym. My training philosophy is to teach the person, not the exercise.

When training with me, a workout is going to be designed to not only to pursue your physical goals, but to also promote the adaptation of your nervous system to conquer stressors and find balance throughout your life, not just in the gym. We do this by building workouts that consider the context of your experiences, stressors, fears, skills, and schedule.

Through this integrative process, we can make faster, more thorough progress in all aspects of your life, using physical expression as the driver. When we train with this holistic view, it’s easier to stay consistent, training is more enjoyable, and we find more meaning in what we do.

It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it.
